The Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek has a duration of 8 days and it is a great starter trek for newbie trekkers who want to have a full-on Himalaya trek experience which is easy enough for them to enjoy at the same time. The Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek is also one of the shortest treks in the Himalayas since its maximum altitude is only at 3,210m, which makes it perfect for individuals, family, and even friends who have little time for longer treks in the Himalayas.
The ascent to Poon Hill hike is the most famous highlight of the Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek since this offers trekkers one of the best views of the mountains in the entire Annapurna region. Upon a clear day of trekking, trekkers get to experience the amazingly breathtaking views of Dhaulagiri (8,167m), Fishtail (6,997m), Annapurna (8,091m), Annapurna II, South II, Nilgiri, Tukuche, Butterfly mountain, Dhampus peak, Hiunchuli, and other majestic mountain peaks.
Trekkers also get to pass through Ghandruk, an authentic village located in the Annapurna region, which is another highlight of the Ghorepani Poon Hill trek. A lot of trekkers look forward to experiencing the village’s rich traditions and culture. Trekkers will descend towards a very narrow trail that cuts through thick rhododendron forests with deep subtropical valleys and a spectacular view of Mt. Fishtail.
We at Himalayan Treks allow full customisation for our customers, which is why we also have add-ons and trip extensions which can be perused by interested trekkers. Some popular trip extensions availed by our clients include a day or more exploring the historic sitesof Kathmandu, Bhaktapur or why not pay a visit to the UNESCO World Heritage Chitwan National Park. Likewise, it’s also possible to extend your trek to link it with other treks in the same Annapurna area, for instance the Annapurna Sanctuary trek or the Annapurna Circuit trek. However, if you are looking for a different experience altogether, we can recommend the Everest Base Camp trek, the Langtang Valley trek or the Manaslu Circuit trek.
