Overview of the Annapurna Circuit Trek

The Annapurna Circuit trek is one of the most popular treks in the Himalayas. It provides a combination of spectacular mountain scenery and a scenic snow-capped mountain view. The Annapurna Circuit that we offer is the short version, more accessible to those that have a limited time to enjoy the experience. You can witness its serene and picturesque lowland farms and villages, a wealth of cultural interest, a challenging pass crossing, and its midrange level of difficulty, making it ideal for avid and newbie trekkers alike.

Highlights of the Annapurna Circuit Trek

One of the many highlights of the Annapurna Circuit Trek I is that it traverses through the western side of Mt Dhaulagiri whose summit is at 8,167m and also cuts through the eastern Annapurna mountain range, whose eastern peak is at a slightly lower point of 8,091m.

In addition to passing through some of the world’s highest mountain peaks, the Annapurna Circuit also allows trekkers to experience the Kali Gandaki river which cuts through both the Annapurna Mountain Range and Mt Dhaulagiri. The Kali Gandaki river boasts of a gorge known as the world’s deepest gorge.

Besides its spectacular and majestic view of the Himalayas, we will encounter on this trek a variety of mountain communities such the Gurung, Manangi and Thakali people.

As mentioned, the Annapurna Circuit Trek takes several days to complete. On this trek, though, we’ll take the short distance one.

What can you do before or after your Annapurna Circuit Trek

We at Himalayan Treks allow full customisation for our customers, which is why we also have add-ons and trip extensions which can be perused by interested trekkers. Some popular trip extension availed by our clients include a day or more exploring the historic sites of KathmanduBhaktapur or why not pay a visit to the UNESCO World Heritage Chitwan National Park. If you look for a different experience, though, we can recommend the Everest Base Camp trek, the Gokyo Valley trek (Everest region), the Langtang Valley trek or the Tamang Heritage Trail (Langtang area).
